BANGALORE: A non-resident Indian (NRI) couple from England and the driver of the taxi they were travelling by were killed when the vehicle was involved in a collision with a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation bus on National Highway-7 in Devanahalli taluk of Bangalore Rural district on Friday. Police said that Aishwarya Lal Patel and his wife, Prabhavathi, who arrived here from London on Friday morning, boarded a taxi at the Bangalore Airport to proceed to Puttaparti in Andhra Pradesh. Around 8 a.m., a KSRTC bus bound for Bangalore from Hyderabad collided with their vehicle off Uganavadi Gate. While Patel (50) and the driver, Radhakrishna (28) of Anantapur, were killed on the spot, a seriously injured Prabhavathi (40) died on the way to hospital, police said. The couple's relative, Urmila, was severely injured.
