PANAJI: Speculation and uncertainty over the choice of the special invitee to inaugurate the 36th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) came to an end on Saturday. The organisers announced that veteran Bollywood actor Dev Anand, Telugu actor Chiranjeevi and Minister for Information and Broadcasting Priyaranjan Das Munsi will light the ceremonial lamp to inaugurate IFFI on November 24.
Joint inauguration
The Chief Executive officer of Goa Entertainment Society said they would jointly inaugurate the festival. He had earlier refrained from making a statement on the issue fearing more controversies after the name of Amitabh Bachchan, suggested by the State Government, was turned down by Delhi. Over 250 delegates have registered so far for IFFI against last year's 300. This year the organisers expect over 400 delegates. The last day for registration is November 23.
