Warangal meet has ignored key issues: rebel MLA

Staff Reporter

Sangareddy : Ridiculing T. Harish Rao for sitting on the floor during the TRS Warangal meeting, Sangareddy legislator T. Jayaprakash Reddy has described it as a drama by the former youth affairs minister.

Addressing a press conference on Sunday, Mr. Reddy said: "There is no need for such demonstration in public while the reality is that he rules the party in proxy." He alleged that the meeting ended without touching the core issues.

Demanding reconstitution of village, mandal and district level committees through democratic and transparent process, Mr. Reddy wanted dissolution of the State committee. He, however, clarified that this doesn't mean that Mr. Rao should step down. "We want that family rule should end."

Commenting on the possibility of Mr. Rao entrusting party leader A. Narendra with an important task, he felt that it would not be of much use, as the key powers would still remain with uncle and nephew.

He pointed out that Mr. Narendra had been working hard to keep the party united despite the humiliation meted out to him.
