ISLAMABAD: India and Pakistan will sort out issues pertaining to the Amritsar-Nankana Sahib bus service at the technical level meeting scheduled in the second week of December. The Pakistan leadership gave this assurance to Minister of State for External Affairs E. Ahamed, who is here for the donors' conference convened by Islamabad to raise money for the victims of the October 8 earthquake. Mr. Ahamed met Pakistan Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri at the weekend and discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral interest. During his meeting with Mr. Aziz, Mr. Ahamed referred to the remarks made by Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf about the desire of his country to buy building material from India for reconstruction of quake-hit areas. Mr. Ahamed said New Delhi was ready to help Pakistan in the work.
Indian grant
Referring to the Indian grant of $25 million, Mr. Ahamed said Pakistan was free to buy any material it required. In response to the desire expressed by Mr. Aziz that Pakistan would like to see the five points on the Line of Control (LoC) to be open on a daily basis to enable people take part in reconstruction efforts, Mr. Ahamed said India would examine the request.
