The votes in seven Assembly segments would be counted at the following centres: Thiruvananthapuram North (Mar Ivanios College), West (Government Teacher Training Institute, Manacaud), East (Swati Tirunal Music College), Nemom (Government Higher Secondary School, Balaramapuram), Kovalam (Government Girls' Higher Secondary School, Neyyattinkara) Neyyattinkara (Government Boys' Higher Secondary School, Neyyattinkara), Parassala (Government Girls' High School, Parassala). Photo-identity cards have been issued to the agents. Agents without identity cards would not be allowed inside the counting stations. There would be 14 tables in each counting station. Two officials would be in charge of a table, Mr. Ayyappan said. The rounds for counting have been fixed on the basis of the number of booths in each segment - North 13, West 10, East 9, Nemom 12, Kovalam 12, Neyyattinkara 12, Parassala 11. There are six tables at the Collectorate for counting the postal votes. One officer would be in charge of a table. The seal of the control units of the electronic voting machines would be opened in the presence of the agents. A holiday has been declared on Tuesday for the institutions housing the counting centres. Elaborate arrangements have been made at the Collectorate for providing the results to the media. The progress in counting would be intimated at the media centre through hotline at the control room and from there to the media centre. The National Informatics Centre would provide results using Trend Software. Fax and telephone facilities too have been provided at the media centre, Mr. Ayyappan said.
