Cultural bodies should strive for social uplift, says Barnala

CHENNAI: Governor Surjit Singh Barnala said on Monday that more arts and cultural associations should contribute to social uplift and to the needy.

Presenting awards to outstanding personalities in various walks of life at a function organised by Marrumalarchi Arts Academy here, he said with advances in science and technology and education, society needed contribution from one and all to develop.
