Alarming situation

Nobel laureate Amartya Sen's revelation of the plight of the health care sector in Jharkhand and West Bengal (Nov. 20) is disturbing. The report is really an alarm bell for the State and Central authorities. At a time when India is striving hard to become a developed nation, and given its phenomenal and enviable growth on other fronts, the situation prevailing in the health care sector is a real cause for concern.
