JAIPUR: Bio-diesel prepared from jatropha and models of the wind energy project in Jaisalmer and the proposed Giral lignite-based power project in Barmer are special attractions of the Rajasthan pavilion put up at the ongoing India International Trade Fair-2005 in New Delhi. The Rajasthan State Mines and Minerals Limited (RSMML) has displayed the bio-diesel prepared from jatropha plants, which is being used for running buses near the Jhamarkotra mines of the public sector body in Udaipur district. The farming of jatropha has also been launched at the vacant land between mines. The Director of Rajasthan pavilion, Ravi Agrawal, said in a statement that the exhibition included samples of 44 major and 22 minor minerals found in the desert State, while the significance of marble, granite and sandstone from the State used in buildings across the country was also highlighted. The model of a windmill has been displayed at the entrance gate of the pavilion, while the visitors can observe the model of the Jaisalmer wind energy project in the theme area hall.
