In a bid to encourage the writers, who are working in the Chennai Circle of State Bank of India, the bank organises a get-together every year. Recently, the State Bank of India conducted a function at Chennai to honour its meritorious employees with `Tamil literary awards'. The Chief General Manager, SBI, Pradeep Choudry, felicitated 12 writers from all over the State for their literary works. Tamil writer and an employee of SBI's Perumalpuram branch in Tirunelveli, R. Narumpunathan, received the award from Mr. Pradeep Choudry on the occasion.
