Good show

The State's people should thank the Election Commission for ensuring that the RJD's money and muscle power did not cause havoc, as they did in the past, with the elections. Let us hope that this is a new dawn for the people of Bihar.

V.V.S. Mani,
Bangalore

The election result is not just a victory for the NDA. It is a victory for democracy, the Election Commission and in particular to that unassuming but very firm individual K.J. Rao.

K.R.A. Narasiah,
Chennai

The outcome of the Bihar elections is justifiable. The role played by the Election Commission in general and the Commission's adviser, K.J. Rao, in particular, should be lauded despite accusations that it was partial. At this rate if strictness and uprightness is exercised, all election results will be as per the people's verdict.

K. Vaidyanathan,
Paloncha, A.P.

The Commission has done a commendable job in completing the laborious and challenging election process peacefully and fairly without being deterred by wild allegations made by the RJD-Congress combine.

V.K. Sathyavan Nair,
Kottayam, Kerala

Finally, `Lalu raj' is over. The credit must go to Election Commission, especially Mr. Rao. The Commission has proved that with firm determination a peaceful election can be conducted in Bihar.

Prabhakar Singh,
New Delhi
