VISAKHAPATNAM: Gaurav Dhiman smashed a century as India registered a 140-run win over Sri Lanka in the inaugural Afro-Asian under-19 cricket tournament at the Ukku Stadium here on Tuesday. With this third straight win, India collected 18 points to lead the table, while Sri Lanka remained on 11 points. Dhiman's 121 included two sixes and 15 fours. He added 109 runs for the first-wicket with Tanmoy Srivastav (26), and 55 for the second with Cheteswar Pujara (65 not out). Chasing the target, Sri Lanka was never in the hunt. Its batsmen landed in trouble attempting for big shots. Gaurav Dhiman, Yo Mahesh, Piyush Chawla and Shahabaz Nadeem claimed two wickets each. In another match, Pakistan defeated South Africa by four wickets. Though it missed the bonus point, Pakistan (12 points) is still in the race for a berth in the final. Middle-order batsman Ali Asad (75 not out) top-scored for the winner. Bangladesh gained its first points, beating Zimbabwe by nine wickets. The scores: India 293 for four in 50 overs (Gourav Dhiman 121, Cheteswar Pujara 65 n.o., Debabrata Das 30 n.o., Tanmoy Srivastav 26) bt Sri Lanka 153 in 34 overs (S. Serasingha 30).
