Brazil beats U.S.

NAGANO: Brazil came from behind to beat the United States 25-27, 25-22, 25-19, 26-24 in the opening match of the men's volleyball World Grand Champions Cup on Tuesday, two days after it lifted the women's title.

In other matches on day one of the six-nation round-robin featuring the champions of four continents, Italy whipped China 25-15, 25-15, 25-17 and Japan beat Egypt 25-16, 23-25, 14-25, 25-23, 15-5. — AFP
