CHANDIGARH: Hundreds of employees of the Punjab power board today struck work protesting against the Electricity Act, 2003 and plans to privatise the board. Once the power act is implemented, electricity would become more costlier directly hitting industrial and farm sector consumers, a statement issued by a PSEB Employees Joint Forum leader Om Prakash said here. "Cash collection centres remained closed and street lights could not be switched off during day hours in the State as none of the employeee reported for duty,'' he said. The statement claimed that the strike was complete in most part of the State. PTI
