Allauddin CC and MBP XI record wins

VIJAYAWADA: Allauddin CC and MBP XI scored victories in the Krishna District Cricket Association `B' division league tournament, defeating Madhu Memorial CC and Hindustan XI respectively on Tuesday.

The scores: Allauddin CC 169 in 34.1 overs bt Madhu CC 93 (Ayub five for 30).

MBP XI 283 in 39.3 overs (A. Ravi 62) bt Hindustan 187 in 35.1 overs (K. Sarath Chand 77).

Padma does well

Vijayawada's P. Padma of Syed Appalaswamy College stood first in the 15th inter-district aquathlon championships held recently at Secunderabad. In the sub-junior segment, Jyothi Sureka finished second. Both will represent Andhra Pradesh team in the Nationals to be held at Pune (Maharashtra) from December 7, said H. Sai Babu, secretary, Krishna District Triathlon Association.

Vijay Kumar for Lanka

J. Vijaya Kumar, chief instructor, Goshin-Kyu Karate International, would be leaving for Sri Lanka on November 23 to train young karatekas, said a release from the association.
