Binu to meet Reynold

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Defending champion Binu Mani will meet Reynold Timothy in the men's singles final of the 62nd Trivandrum Open tennis tournament at the TTC courts.

In the semifinals on Tuesday, Binu Mani made short work of N.R. Abhilash 6-2, 6-1, while Reynold Timothy defeated Binu's brother Binoj 6-1, 6-3.

Parvathy Vijayan will meet Seetha Satish in the women's singles final. Sneha Susan Thomas won the singles title under-10 girls' category after she defeated Rithika 9-3 in the final.

The results: Semifinals: Men's singles: Reynold Timothy bt Binoj Mani 6-1, 6-3; Binu Mani bt N.R. Abhilash 6-2, 6-1. Boys: Under-16: Shyam Babu bt G.L. Vivek 9-5; Tao Issaro bt Swathy Kanth 9-4. Doubles: G.L. Vivek/Asif Taj bt Sivakumar/Ruputhaman Ram 9-2; Tao Issaro/Mihir Pillai bt Shyam Babu/M.R. Rajendran 9-3. Under-14: Jaisal Kohli Mariwala bt Pritish Krishore Kumar 9-1; Swathy Kanth bt H. Suraj 9-4.

Doubles: Jaisal Kohli bt Aditya Bhat bt Pritish Kishore Kumar/Karthika Narayanan 8-4; Swathy Kanth/Rupothaman Ram bt H. Suraj/Mohammed Hamraz 8-5. Under-12: Adithya Bhat bt Solomon G. Thomas 9-3; H. Suraj bt Vignesh V. Gopal 9-2. Doubles: Vikram Ramesh/Aditya Bhat bt Kameel Fahee/Akeel Faheem 8-4; H. Suraj/Mohammed Hamraz bt Sachin Vinoth/Vignesh V. Gopal 8-4.
