MANGALORE: The Statewide campaign to save Indian cattle breeds will reach Mangalore on Wednesday. Reception committee chairman Pradeep Kumar Kalkura told presspersons here on Tuesday that the campaign, which is the brainchild of the swamiji of Ramachandrapura Mutt, Raghaveshwara, will tour the State for 68 days before going on to other States. Mr. Kalkura said the campaign will create awareness about Indian cattle breeds, particularly their socio-economic and religious significance. The organisers will hold an exhibition of cattle from different parts of India. Local breeds will also be exhibited. The exhibition will showcase products connected with cattle such as concoctions, medicinal formulations and products of daily use made from cattle by-products. Films on the importance of cattle to the environment will be screened on themes such as the production of biogas, production of manure and bio-fertilizers, and sale of dairy products. The exhibition will be inaugurated by Raghaveshwara. Karnataka Bank Chairman Ananthakrishna, Corporation Bank Executive Director K.L.
