Workshop on science writing , journalism

CHENNAI: M.T.S. Academy, National Council for Science and Technology Communication and Tamil Nadu Science and Technology Centre are jointly organising a five-day workshop on science writing and journalism.

The workshop, which will be conducted from December 20 to 24 at the Anna Science Planetarium, Tiruchirapalli, aims at training writers to effectively communicate scientific concepts and theories and create awareness among the rural masses.

Science teachers, journalists, lecturers and college students are eligible to take part in the workshop.

Candidates will need to send a paper on `The development of science and technology' to The Honorary Secretary, M.T.S. Academy, Mylai Thiruvalluvar Tamil Sangam, Periyar University Study Centre, No. 4, Mangollai, East Mada Street, Mylapore, Chennai-4.

Last date for receipt of applications is December 10, 2005.

Fifty applicants will be selected to participate in the workshop.
