Veneranda Arusha Guyuze
The 25,000th cardiac patient walked out of the Madras Medical Mission in Mogappair, thanks to the skilled team of cardiac surgeons who gave her a new lease of life.
Eleven-year-old Veneranda Arusha Guyuze of Tanzania was operated on November 10.
Her surgery, for mitral valve replacement, was sponsored by Tanzania's Ministry of Health.
On the same day a porter, Chandrasekaran, underwent bypass surgery with financial support from charitable institutions and trusts. S. Rajan, a senior consultant for adult cardiac surgery and Robert Coelho, senior consultant, paediatric cardiac surgery, led the team of surgeons.
