Advani stands by decision

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: Bihar election results will have no bearing on the decision of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president L.K. Advani to quit his party position at the party's Mumbai conclave next month.

"I will stick to my decision I announced at the party's national executive committee meeting in Chennai [in September]", Mr. Advani said, as a large number of people gathered at his residence this morning to congratulate him on the victory of the BJP-Janata Dal (United) alliance in Bihar.
