Woman naxal killed in another encounter

Headmaster shot dead by suspected Nallamala Cobras in Mahabubnagar

ADILABAD: In the third exchange of fire between special party policemen and a group of three fleeing naxalites on the third successive day on Tuesday in Adilabad district, an unidentified woman extremist was killed. An SBBL gun carried by her was recovered from the scene of the encounter. The police suspect that one of the two surviving naxalites who fled under cover of darkness was injured. The encounter was at Peddamalini-Jogapur area, near Jogapur village under Kagaznagar rural mandal. Four Maoists have been slain during the current operations.

Adilabad Superintendent of Police Kripanand Tripathi Ujela told reporters that policemen combing the area came across the group of naxalites. The naxalites hurled a hand grenade towards the police party. The grenade having failed to explode, the naxalites fired upon the policemen. In the retaliatory fire the woman cadre was killed.

Against Maoists

According to a report from Mahabubnagar, the headmaster of Government upper primary school at Allipur village in Chinna Chintakunta mandal of the district was shot dead by suspected Nallamala Cobras(Krishnapatti Sangam).

Dasari Muneppa(38), the headmaster, was proceeding to board a bus to go to Atmakur around 4.15 p.m. when a group of unidentified persons got down from a vehicle and fired three rounds at him at close range and fled the place. He died instantaneously. They left a note in which they wrote that "those who support Maoists will face the same fate." Muneppa was active in Kula Vyathireka Porata Samithi. E is survived by wife, a daughter and a son.
