Workshop on voice

disorders

Thiruvananthapuram: A live surgery and national workshop on swallowing and voice disorders, organised by the Association of Phonosurgeons of India and the Association of Otolaryngologists of India, will be held on November 26 and 27 at the KIMS Hospital here. The workshop will deal with voice disorders and swallowing disorders, especially in patients with neurological illnesses. The topics to be discussed include care of professionals' voice, drooling in children, care of hypernaseal voice, swallowing therapy, among others. — Staff Reporter

Career guidance course

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Centre for Continuing Education Kerala is planning to organise a career guidance programme for high school students here. The centre has invited applications from competent persons and organisations willing to cooperate in the venture. Educational psychologists will be preferred. Sai Jayanthi

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The 80th Jayanthi celebrations of Sri Sathya Sai Baba organised by the Sri Sathya Sai Orphanage Trust, will start here on Wednesday. Chief Minister Oomen Chandy is scheduled to inaugurate the event. Water Resources Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan will preside over the inaugural function. A mass wedding ceremony will be arranged for young people from financially backward families. — Staff Reporter

Peace run

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A `run for peace' would be the highlight of this year's NCC day celebrations to be held on Sunday. The peace run will begin at 6 a.m. from the Martyr's square at Palayam and conclude at the NCC directorate, Vazhuthacaud. Around 100 cadets are expected to participate.
