Two-day theatre fest

BELLARY: Two Kannada plays — "Romeo and Juliet" and "Patargithi pakka" — will be staged by Ninasam's Tirugata troupe at the Dr. Joladarashi Doddanagowda Ranga Mandir here on Saturday and Sunday. "Naavu," a cultural organisation of Hospet and Bellary, has organised the programme as part of its 24th anniversary celebrations. Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet," translated by K.V. Tirumallesh and directed by Atul Tiwari of Mumbai, will be staged on Saturday at 6.30 p.m. On the Sunday, "Patargithi pakka," an adaptation of the Spanish play in which 20 poems of Da Ra Bendre have been used, will be staged.
