Pondicherry: Sincerity and dedication towards work will always stand a person in good stead, director of Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) K.S.V.K. Subba Rao has said. He was presenting the Sub-Regional Best Station Awards (2004) and Bharat Sanchar Sarathi and Sanchar Seva Padak Awards (2005) at a function organised by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (Southern Telecom Region- STR, Chennai) here on Wednesday. Awards showed that sincerity and commitment would always bring recognition and appreciation, he said.
What had been achieved in the telecom sector over the last twenty-five years or so should be achieved in another twenty-five months, particularly in the context of the development and growth in the different sectors, said Chief General Manager (Maintenance) of STR (Chennai) K. Balakrishnan, who presided over the function.
At present, around 4.61 lakh route km had been achieved in the optical fibre structure. The awards for best-maintained stations for 2004 were presented to Mannargudi OFC station and Krishnagiri OFC Sub-division. The Bharat Sanchar Sarathi awardees in Chennai sub-region were A. Tamilselvi, S.I. Berkmones, V. Krishnamoorthy, P.V. Gopalakrishnan and P. Mohanavalli. The Sanchar Seva Padak awards were given away to N. Dharmalingam, L. Krishnamoorthy and B. Subramanian.
