Letters to the Editor
The death of BRO driver Ramankutty Maniappan at the hands of the Taliban in Afghanistan is a dastardly act of terrorism. The immediate action of the government should be to ensure the security of the hundreds of Indians still working there.
S.M. Sundarajan,
Who is actually responsible for Maniappan's death? Religious fanatics? Osama bin Laden? George W. Bush? The Afghanistan Government? The Indian Government? Where and how is this going to stop? Who is going to stop it? The civilised world should do it, and with force if necessary.
Ashok Viswanath,
One gets the feeling that the driver could have been saved had the Indian Government acted with speed.
Rajesh Madhavan,
