Bangalore: Brands rule the world of business today. A successful brand dominates the market in its category and those which cannot at least be a close second or third may just fade away. BrandWidth 2005, a seminar on the dynamics of building successful and memorable brands, will be organised here on Saturday, hosted by the Bangalore-based branding and communications consultancy, Brand-Comm. The event is to take place between 9.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. at the Taj Residency. BrandWidth will present thought leaders of frontier industries in different sectors such as information technology, consumer durables, branded jewellery, fashion, automobile, fast moving consumer goods, advertising, etc. Participants in the seminar will include more than 200 communication managers from the middle and senior-level managements of corporate India represented by various firms in the city. The theme will be "A cross industry perspective". This key selling point of the seminar and the "take away" for participants will cover an in-depth analysis of several brands that have become part of our day-to-day experience, at home, work or at play. "A high level of involvement and interaction from the audience is assured,'' the organisers say. Ramanujam Sridhar, Chief Executive Officer, Brand-Comm, considers the event as one of the best business opportunities to meet and network with the "influencers" of many companies in Bangalore. It will be on the scale of similar gatherings in Delhi or Mumbai. "The South lacks large scale, cross-profession branding and management forums where one gets to meet the `Who's Who' of branding giants from various industries,'' he says. Mr. Sridhar said, "The best approach to learning is to look outside one's own industry and get a fresh perspective. "That is one of the reasons we have tried to get speakers from a wide range of different organisations and businesses, across categories and industries." The presenters at the seminar will include S. Sivakumar, Chief Executive Officer, Agribusiness, ITC Ltd., Subroto Bagchi, Chief Operating Officer, MindTree Consulting, Hemachandra Javeri, President, Madura Garments, Anchal Jain, Marketing Manager, Tanishq, G. Ramprasad, President, TI Cycles of India, Pranesh Misra, President and Chief Operating Officer, Lowe India.
