Navpreet Singh wins title

NEW DELHI: Navpreet Singh, Asian silver medallist and Asian Indoor Games champion, putted 18.20 metres to easily win the shot put title on the opening day of the all-India Police athletics championship at the Nehru Stadium here on Wednesday. One a comeback after a gap, Amritpal Singh managed 7.75 metres in long jump, but had to settle for the silver on a countback after being tied with Rajeev Kumar.
