ANANTAPUR : Two quick blows by Andhra had Baroda reeling at 13 for two on the opening day of their Elite Group `B' Ranji Trophy match at the Rural Development Trust (RDT) ground here on Tuesday. Cashing in on a good toss to win, skipper M.S.K. Prasad chose to field. Exploiting the densely overcast conditions and the dampness in the air, Andhra speedsters K.S. Shabuddin and D. Kalyana Krishna struck early, removing Satyajit Parab and Irshad Sindhi in the fifth and sixth overs respectively. Parab's edge was picked up low by stumper Prasad, leaning to his right, as `Shabby,' as his mates call Shabuddin, bowled a tidy line in his four over spell. Krishna, not to be left behind, had Sindhi rapped on the pads soon after. Play was held up by rain until the last session and was possible only for 48 minutes. When Baroda skipper Jacob Martin appealed for light, the umpires halted play. A mild shower pelted the field, forcing them to call off play. Earlier in the day, the rain played a cat and mouse game, waiting for mopping up operations to be complete, before coming down in a drizzle. The lone manual sopper and dozens of hands tried hard to dry the playing area, but in vain. The score: Baroda 1st innings: Connor Williams (batting) 1, Satyajit Parab c M.S.K. Prasad b Shabuddin 10, Irshad Sindhi lbw b Kalyana Krishna 1, Jacob Martin (batting) 1. Total (for two wickets in nine overs) 13. Fall of wickets: 1-11, 2-12. Andhra bowling: Shabuddin 4-2-5-1, Krishna 4-1-8-1, Suresh 1-1-0-0.
