PEOPLE'S VOICE: Basavanagudi MLA and former Mayor K. Chandrashekar (right) addressing a group of residents, who were protesting against the BMP's proposal to build a grade separator at Ramakrishna Ashrama Circle, in Bangalore on Wednesday. P hoto: K. Bhagya Prakash
Bangalore: A group of citizens on Wednesday complained to Chief Minister N. Dharam Singh about the move of the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike to build a grade separator on Bull Temple Road (in front of Ramakrishna Ashram). They pointed out to him that the BMP only recently built a flyover at the National High School Circle at a short distance from the Bull Temple Road junction and there is no need for a grade separator. The Chief Minister, who did not appear to be informed about the decision regarding the grade separator, asked the BMP Commissioner R. Jyotiramalingam to look into the matter. The Commissioner told presspersons that the B MP is not springing a surprise on the people. It announced the decision to build the grade separator while presenting the annual budget. The Bull Temple Road grade separator is part of the North-South Corridor project. But the BMP is yet to get clearance from the Government for the project.
