Power shutdown today

There will be no power supply in the following areas on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. owing to maintenance work: Gollarahatti pipeline, Sun Valley Club, Kodigehalli, Seegehalli, Gongadipura, Kannalli and Magadi Road.

Exchange bureau inaugurated

Punjab National Bank has opened an exchange bureau on Kempe Gowda Road in Bangalore. The exchange bureau will offer facilities such as sale and purchase of foreign currency notes and traveller's cheques from foreign tourists and residents and release of foreign exchange for various current account purposes. It has opened an extension counter at South East Asian College.

Certificate

course

The National Institute of Open Schooling under the Department of Education is offering a certificate course in computer applications and a six-month certificate course in desktop publishing at YMCA computer academy in Nrupatunga Road. The last date for submitting the applications is December 31. The requisite qualification is a pass in X standard and there is no age limit. For details, call 22211848.

Eye check-up

Blood donation camp

The Regional Blood Transfusion Centre in association with Rotary Bangalore Midtown and Bangalore Kidney Foundation will organise a blood donation camp on Saturday at Bharat Fritz Werner in Peenya. The donors will be provided with their blood group card and a certificate of appreciation from the Bangalore Kidney Foundation.
