VIJAYAWADA: Yet another jewel gets ready to adorn the crown of the city. ITC-Welcome group's Fortune Murali Park, a four-star hotel, came up on the busy M.G. Road in the place where the erstwhile Kandhari International stood tall. Business travellers and tourists will now have an option to choose between two four-star facilities.

Set for a gala inauguration mid-December, this `smart, contemporary and best in class' facility, as claimed by the Welcome group, bucks up to satiate the taste buds of city's food connoisseurs.

Managing Director Muthavarapu Murali Krishna said on Wednesday that 48 deluxe rooms would be opened in the first phase, which would be quickly followed by opening of another 22 rooms. The remaining 30 rooms would be opened in the second phase. Four junior suites - one each on 2nd, 3rd, fourth and fifth levels, are getting spruced up.

Customer-friendly

The hotel, which has seven levels, will have `Fortune Club' rooms in the sixth and seventh levels. These rooms would have wooden flooring. The premium customers occupying these rooms would get 24-hour express check-in and checkout facility.

All the rooms would have tea and coffee makers, weighing scales and electronic safes. Electronic key-locks would ensure maximum safety to the guests. Exquisite upholstery and opulent ambience of the hotel would place the hotel on the top of the favoured destinations in the city, he felt.

Zodiac, a 24-hour coffee shop, a multi-cuisine restaurant and a pub-cum-bar would also be opened in the hotel to entice youths and families. The hotel would have three banquet halls with a capacity to hold nearly 1,500 people in all.

Mr. Murali Krishna said the 150-car parking would be a great relief to the visitors. Initially, 75 cars would be allowed in the parking lot, while another 75 cars could be parked on the premises of the hotel. Depending on the rush, another level of parking could be considered, he observed. Advent of more flight services and the completion of the proposed star hotel projects - one promoted by G.V.Rajaiah and the other by Gokaraju Ganga Raju - would entice more business avenues, particularly in the IT sector, to the city, he hoped. The hotel proposes to have a swimming pool on the top floor as part of its future expansion plans.
