dated November 25, 1955: Frontier Gandhi's offer

The Red Shirt leader, Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, has alleged that "the Government-controlled press and radio" and other interested persons in Pakistan have been deliberately misrepresenting him. Addressing a public meeting at Abbotabad, the Frontier Gandhi declared, "Those who fought against the British are now being dubbed as traitors, and those who sold the nation to the British are now called patriots." He said he and his followers were called the agents of India at one time and the agents of Afghanistan at another. He said he was more loyal and sincere to Pakistan than those now in power. The Red Shirt leader said it was wrong to say that they were demanding Pakhtoonistan outside Pakistan. "We will crush all those who demand Pakhtoonistan outside Pakistan." About the Kashmir dispute, Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan said that he twice offered his services to Mr. Jinnah and Mr. Liaquat Ali Khan for the settlement. On both those occasions his offers were turned down. He said he could still help solve the dispute. Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan is one of the invitees to the All-Pakistan Conference on Kashmir, beginningon November 25.
