Delhi-Madrid flight of Qatar Airways from December 2

NEW DELHI: Qatar Airways is all set to link Delhi with the Spanish capital Madrid from December 2, offering an attractive economy class return fare of Rs. 19,900. The flight will be operated via Doha, capital of Qatar, thrice a week.

The airline operates 30 flights a week out of five Indian cities to Doha; one flight each from Mumbai, Delhi and Thiruvananthapuram daily; five a week from Kochi and four a week from Hyderabad.

Talking to reporters here, Spanish Ambassador Rafael Conde de Faro said the number of Indians visiting his country a year had risen to 25,000 and of Spanish citizens visiting India had gone up to nearly 45,000. There was an urgent need for creating awareness among the people of the two countries of their cultures and tourism potential.

Anup Tiwari of Qatar Airways said the airline would be the only Gulf-based carrier flying to Madrid. It would a launch service to Berlin, second European destination, from December 15.
