NEW DELHI: Hitachi Home and Electronics Asia (HHEA), a company belonging to the Japanese consumer electronics giant Hitachi group, on Thursday said it was on the look out for tie-ups with Indian companies for distributing products. "Talks are on with a few companies for distribution network and we should be able to finalise the matter by early next year," HHEA Country Head, Tarun Jain, told reporters here while launching the company's new range of plasma televisions. He said the company started its distribution in India two years ago and was eyeing the growing plasma television market. It was looking to expand its distribution network here, he said adding that it was aiming to have 300 outlets by the end of 2006 against 60 at present, besides increasing exclusive Hitachi galleries to 12 from two. Mr. Jain said the demand for flat panel televisions in India was projected to multiply and touch 42,000 sets in 2006 and double to 84,000 sets by 2007. The company was eyeing a major share of the growing market, he said.
