P.S. Sreedharan Pillai
After the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate, C.K. Padmanabhan, lost his deposit in the Thiruvananthapuram Lok Sabha byelection, the political debate is centred on erosion of votes and relevance of the party in the State. Mr. Padmanabhan had said that all Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) votes had not come to his kitty and, a few days later, party's State unit president P.S. Sreedharan Pillai came up with a dramatic announcement of his resignation. Presspersons made a beeline for Mr. Pillai's house in Kozhikode on Wednesday, hearing that he had come home after resigning. This was, perhaps, his last press conference as State BJP president. In an informal chat after the press conference, Mr. Pillai, a lawyer, talked of going back to his profession. And he promised journalists news even in his new role.
