ERODE: Govindasamy (27), a resident of Arthanarigounden Valasu, was arrested in connection with the rape and murder of an eight-year-old girl at Arthanarigounden Valasu three days back. Superintendent of Police P. Nagarajan said that Govindasamy, a mason, raped the girl leading to her death. He was arrested on Wednesday night and had confessed to the crime. A case of rape and murder was registered against him. He was remanded to 15 days custody by the Judicial Magistrate.
