Belgaum: A delegation of senior leaders of Maharashtra Ekikaran Samithi (MES) has left for Mumbai to meet the Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh. The delegation comprised prominent leaders, including the Mayor, Vijay Pandurang More, the MES MLAs, Manohar Kinekar and Digamber Patil. Sources said the MES Central Committee president, Vasantrao Patil, will lead the delegation and discuss the recent happenings after the Belgaum City Corporation adopted a resolution on the merger of Belgaum and parts of Karnataka with Maharashtra, the attack on Mr. Vijay Pandurang More in Bangalore and two other MES leaders and the dissolution of the city corporation council itself.
