CHENNAI: Anna University has rescheduled engineering semester examinations of all affiliated colleges on account of rain. A university release said the examinations, scheduled for November 24, 25 and 26, will now be held on December 15, 16, and 17. Vice-Chancellor D. Viswanathan said the university would organise an off-campus recruitment drive for students who passed out from self-financing colleges in the State in 2005. A written test would be held at the Guindy campus on December 4. The shortlisted candidates would be interviewed the next day. He said Caritor India was looking to recruit engineers from the 2005 batch as software engineer trainees with a pay package of Rs. 2.04 lakh per annum including medical benefits. The eligibility is B.E. (CSE/ECE), B.Tech (IT) and MCA from the affiliated colleges. Students should have secured 65 per cent and above in their qualifying degree and 60 per cent and above in their Tenth and Twelfth standard/ Diploma examinations. He said all students who passed out in the Chennai zone (85 colleges) had been intimated through their college principals. The eligible students who were yet to find employment had been asked to appear for the test at 8 a.m. on December 4. For the Coimbatore zone, the test will be held in Coimbatore on December 11. All candidates must bring two passport size photographs along with Xerox copy of mark sheets. Those who have registered with the CUIC 2005 drive need not register again, but should bring their card.
