ANANTAPUR: Well-known homeopathic doctor Gudluru Venkata Chalapathi (78) died of old age in his residence here on Thursday. He shot to fame in 1977 when Japanese Encephalitis (brain fever) broke out in the State killing many children. Dr. Chalapathi found that homeo medicine `Belladona-200' as a preventive one. Dr. Chalapathi had been active in the homeopathic field in the country for 45 years and doing free health check-up and free supply of medicine. He had also conducted free homeo camps at 40 places in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka for several years. He has several patients overseas who used to consult him till his death.
