Easy win for Arshad Academy
Arshad Ayub Cricket Academy recorded a 55-run win against Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in the Glendale Trophy under-13 cricket tournament in Hyderabad. The scores: Arshad Ayub CA 124 for eight in 20 overs (Karan 31, Arun 33) bt Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan 69 in 14.5 overs (Sandeep four for 20, Sai Chandra three for 17); JPHS 117 for seven (Sashank 34) lost to HCCA 121 for one in 15.5 overs (Srikanth 67 not out, Rohan Yadav 30 not out).
Big win for Spoorthi
Spoorthi recorded a six-wicket win against Airtel in the Cistron Friendship Cup corporate cricket tournament on Thursday. The scores: Veva 184 for nine in 25 overs (Rajesh 69) bt Melgiri 89; Guzzlers 188 for four (Chaitanya 68 not out) bt Polaris 104; Airtel 154 for seven (Nagaraj 74 not out) lost to Spoorthi 155 for four (Durgaprasad 52 not out, Seenu 40).
Jabri is `Mr.Hyderabad'
Sultan Ahmed Jabri was adjudged `Mr.Hyderabad' in the 80kg category of the Sri Seelam Ramdass Memorial open bodybuilding championship at Pan Bazaar in Hyderabad on Thursday.
Narsing Rao in semifinals
G. Narsing Rao defeated Sreeramulu 376-201 in the billiards quarterfinal of the 36th South Central Railway inter-division billiards and snooker tournament in Hyderabad on Thursday. K. Venaktesham put it across Vijay Kumar 3-1 in the snooker event to enter the last-eight stage.
Bodybuilding meet
Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad will organise an Open bodybuilding championship at Hari Hara Kala Bhavan (Secunderabad) on Nov 29. Competitions will be held in eight weight categories from 55 kg to 90 kg and above. Weighing-in will commence from 3.30 p.m. Further details can be had from S. Selection trials
The Hyderabad District Volleyball Association will organise selection trials for junior boys and girls (under-18) at Narayanguda YMCA on November 28 from 7.00 am. The district teams for the 27th junior inter-district championships to be held in Godavarikhani (Karimnagar) from December 8 to 11 will be picked during the trials.
