Forum launched to protect Tamil culture

CHENNAI:
A meeting of Tamil organisations on Thursday announced the formation of Tamizh Panpaattu Paathukaappu Pasarai, an organisation to protect Tamil culture.
Pattali Makkal Katchi founder S. Ramadoss, who also heads the Tamil Protection Movement, said the apolitical forum would form units at the taluk and district levels to agitate in a non-violent manner for protecting Tamil culture. Addressing the meeting, he said the progressives who were opposing the protests against actresses Kushboo and Suhasini were motivated by anti-Tamil sentiments.
Dalit Panthers leader Thol Thirumaavalavan said he was willing to end the agitation, but if the opponents continued to make noise, he would have other plans.
