`Autowallahs' have their say

Autorickshaw drivers in the city have once again succeeded in making the Government bow to their demands.

The recent hike in the minimum fare from Rs. 8 to Rs. 10 has made Hyderabadis not only furious, but also makes one wonder how the autorickshaw driver unions use blackmailing tactics in getting their demands accepted. "How can the Government increase the auto fare. As it is they (auto drivers) fleece customers through tampered meters," is what people had to say. Nothing seems to move our autowallahs!
