Flyover to be ready ahead of schedule

Staff Reporter

Hyderabad : The Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad is confident of completing the Chandrayangutta flyover one month ahead of schedule. Work on the 460-meter long flyover commenced on October 1 and it is scheduled to be completed by June 30 next. But the MCH is hopeful of finishing the project by May-end.

Seven open foundations have been laid for the flyover beginning at Zeeshan hotel at Chandrayangutta cross roads. Huge pits have been dug to a depth of 15 feet and cement concrete beds laid. On Thursday Mayor T. Krishna Reddy, Deputy Mayor Subhash Chanderjee, Standing Committee Chairman D. Mohan and MCH Commissioner Sanjay Jaju inspected the works.

Chandrayangutta legislator Akbaruddin Owaisi suggested laying of a tunnel at the site but MCH officials pointed out that this was not feasible. Flyovers at Nalgonda cross roads, Panjagutta and Greenlands would be taken up once road widening work was completed.
