Coimbatore: Pandian alias Pandiarajan (32), a karate tutor of Chettyveedhi in Selvapuram attacked four persons of a family including a 12-year-old girl with an aruval on Thursday morning. According to the police, the girl was learning karate from Pandian. When her parents decided to stop the classes, Pandian got upset. He attacked the girl and her mother Karpagavalli. He also attacked Karpagavalli's sister Radha and her husband Gangadharan.
On hearing their screams, neighbours overpowered Pandian. But he swooned. He was rushed to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital where he was declared dead. The others who sustained injuries are said to be out of danger. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law & Order), T.S. Anbu enquired the eyewitnesses. The police suspect that Pandian might have consumed cyanide. They are awaiting tbe post-mortem examination report.
