Two held on rape charge

HYDERABAD : Two persons allegedly raped a 15-year-old girl after assaulting her companion with whom she was going out on a trip at Jeedimetla on Wednesday night.

The teenager and her friend, an autorickshaw driver, were going from Gajularamaram to Kukatpally in the latter's vehicle when two men intercepted them at a secluded place near Mahadevapuram. The accused -- Ramesh and Mahesh -- dragged her friend out and thrashed him.

Later, they whisked away the girl into one of the houses and allegedly sexually assaulted her.
