IA flight makes emergency landing

NEW DELHI:
An Indian Airlines flight, with 134 passengers and the crew, made an emergency landing at the Indira Gandhi International Airport here on Thursday afternoon after a technical snag. The flight, IC-864, had departed for Chandigarh but following a hydraulic failure, the pilot sent an SOS to the Air Traffic Control at 12-20 p.m. and sought permission to make an emergency landing. Immediately, the airport authorities were put on alert and ambulances and fire-fighting units were rushed. But to everyone's relief the aircraft returned and landed safely at 12-35 p.m.
