RAINPROOF RIDERS: A spell of rain at the start of winter on Thursday forced Bangaloreans to take out trendy rainwear. Photo: K. Gopinathan
Bangalore: You may need umbrellas and raincoats till at least the coming weekend. The Meteorological Department has predicted rainfall throughout South Interior Karnataka till Saturday. There has been dense cloud movement over parts of Karnataka and this has resulted in a cloudy sky all day long with intermittent drizzle from Tuesday. Satellite imagery shows a continuous stretch of rain clouds entering southern Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. This means rain for a few more days. Although there have been hardly any spells of heavy showers, the steady drizzle has kept many people indoors and the traffic has been thin apart from the peak hours. Shops, malls and cinemas have reported thin crowds since early this week after a bright and sunny weekend. Shopkeepers about to stock up for Christmas and New Year festive season ahead are anxious. The drop in night temperature over the week has kept shopping crowds away.
