Reports sought

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: Bangalore Urban District Deputy Commissioner M. A. Sadiq has instructed the electoral officers and assistant electoral officers concerned to visit every polling booth in the zilla and taluk panchayat constituencies and submit a comprehensive report to the Government.

Mr. Sadiq was addressing a preparatory meeting on the ensuing zilla and taluk panchyat elections here on Thursday.

He asked the officials concerned to provide details about sensitive and very sensitive polling booths identified in each constituency in the district. They should issue orders appointing election personnel for all the booths before November 30 and fix a date for training them. They should submit reports on the need to issue orders banning weekly market and religious fairs in the light of the elections. The authorities concerned should brief him about the law and order situation on a daily basis until the election process is concluded, Mr. Sadiq said.
