BANGALORE: Chief Minister N. Dharam Singh on Thursday assured the residents of Rajajinagar that he would look into their problems, and set up a Kannada cultural centre in the area. The Chief Minister was attending the concluding function of the six-day Rajajinagar Habba. He promised a major bus station in the area. The six-day festival, which attracted about 10,000 people, had "Karnataka folklore" as its theme. The events were conducted in eight venues across 12 wards of the Rajajinagar Assembly Constituency. The festival, which attracted a large number of college students, featured competitions in photography, painting and even a contest in longest moustache.
Competition
The photography competition was based on the theme "Parks and beauty spots of Rajajinagar." The event was organised to combat the influence of Western culture, according to Rajajinagar MLA N.L. Narendrababu. The festival theme of Karnataka folklore was a tribute to the founder of Janapada Loka, H.L. Nage Gowda.
