Will help train college science teachers on multimedia and e-content development

FEROKE: The Department of Library and Information Science at Farook College here will organise a three-day national workshop on `technology enabled content creation for college science teachers' from Monday.

N. Neelakantan, Edusat project director, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), will deliver the keynote address on `technology for satellite based education.' M. Mohammed, manager of Farook College, will inaugurate the workshop on Monday.

The workshop, sponsored by the University Grants Commission (UGC), will impart training on multimedia and e-content development for college science teachers. It is aimed at enabling teachers to seamlessly integrate the technology in classroom and to help educators in technology integration, said T.P.O. Nasirudheen, head of the Department of Library and Information Science.

Many papers will be presented during three days of technical sessions. Saji Gopinath, associate professor at Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kozhikode, will speak on `pedagogical paradigms in e-learning.'

K. Pradeep Kumar from IIIMTK, Thiruvananthapuram, will speak on `Kerala education grid,' and T.P.M. Fareed, senior teacher in statistics, Farook College, will speak on `computer assisted learning.'

Syed Amjed Ahmed, director of Audio-Visual Research Centre (AVRC), Calicut University, will speak on `aspects of content creation.'
