KURNOOL: A galaxy of music exponents gathered here on Sunday to honour the `teachers' teacher' Sripada Pinakapani. Bigwigs in the field of classical music, Nedunuri Krishna Murthi, Nukala China Satyanarayana and Malladi Brothers honoured their teacher. As Pinakapani was indisposed, the function was organised at his house. Three precious compact discs containing the music composition of Sri Pinakapani were released by Sanskrit scholar Gadiyaram Ramakrishna Sarma. Later, the celebrity disciples honoured the teachers. Vijayawada-based Jandhyala Dakshinamurthi Memorial Trust was instrumental in bringing out the CDs as reference work for many students of Carnatic music. Andhra's contribution to Carnatic music was the most when compared with other States in South India, said Pinakapani. Former MLA T.G. Venkatesh and others attended the function.
